The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have iti> so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
For the mountains will i take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through themi>; neither can meni> hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, i will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it soi>.
Which i commanded your fathers in the day thati> i brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which i command you: so shall ye be my people, and i will be your God:
And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will i break this people and this city, as onei> breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury themi> in Tophet, till there bei> no place to bury.
Inquire, i pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will i acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom i have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for theiri> good.
And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD, so will i give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that i may repent me of the evil, which i purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will i break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

And it shall come to pass, thati> like as i have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will i watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
For thus saith the LORD; Like as i have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will i bring upon them all the good that i have promised them.
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will i multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
Then will i cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, soi> that i will not take anyi> of his seed to bei> rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for i will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Buti> thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odoursi> for thee; and they will lament thee, sayingi>, Ah lord! for i have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
so Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, Asi> the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, i will not put thee to death, neither will i give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.
so shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that i will bring upon them.
For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do iti>.
so will i send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and i will bring the sword upon thee. i the LORD have spoken iti>.
so will i stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that i ami> the LORD.
so will i break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morteri>, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that i ami> the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which i have given to the fire for fuel, so will i give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
so will i make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and i will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
Therefore i will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselvesi> from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Like as i pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will i plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
Asi> they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt iti>; so will i gather youi> in mine anger and in my fury, and i will leave you therei>, and melt you.
Thus will i make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom broughti> from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that arei> scattered; so will i seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will i do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, eveni> all of it: and they shall know that i ami> the LORD.
Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but i will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and i will be their God.
so will i make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and i will not let themi> pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that i ami> the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
And when these days are expired, it shall be, thati> upon the eighth day, and soi> forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and i will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
If it be soi>, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver usi> out of thine hand, O king.
i saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there anyi> that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
And i said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for anotheri> man: so willi> i also bei> for thee.
Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive usi> graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
And it shall come to pass, thati> as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will i save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, buti> let your hands be strong.
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothei> you, O ye of little faith?
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth themi>; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of heri> age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on hisi> face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver usi>;
Now therefore perform the doing of iti>; that as there wasi> a readiness to will, so there may bei> a performance also out of that which ye have.
And when i was present with you, and wanted, i was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all thingsi> i have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and soi> will i keep myselfi>.
Him therefore i hope to send presently, so soon as i shall see how it will go with me.
so that we may boldly say, The Lord isi> my helper, and i will not fear what man shall do unto me.
For it isi> better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
so then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, i will spue thee out of my mouth.
