1 Peter 5:13
The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. |

Ezekiel 21:21
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver. |

Jeremiah 51:58
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary. |

Revelation 18:10
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. |

Revelation 18:9
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, |
And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.
And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
And the king of Assyria brought men from babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of babylon.
in his days Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
And the king of babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of babylon.
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of babylon, unto Jerusalem:
Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.
And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to babylon.
And the king of babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of babylon; and it shall be well with you.
And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in babylon;
So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to babylon for their transgression.
Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to babylon.
Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to babylon, and put them in his temple at babylon.
But in the first year of Cyrus the king of babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.
And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure house, which is there at babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.
Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in babylon.
And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.
This Ezra went up from babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.
But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of babylon.
Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.
Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon;
But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to babylon.
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;
And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in babylon, saying, The LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of babylon roasted in the fire;
For therefore he sent unto us in babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
For then the king of babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.
And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon made king in the land of Judah.
Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of babylon.
And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.
in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
And all the princes of the king of babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of babylon.
But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
Then the king of babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto babylon.
Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to babylon;
And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of babylon, and it shall be well with you.
Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan;
Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of babylon made governor in the land.
Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.
Put yourselves in array against babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.
Cut off the sower from babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.
The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.
They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of babylon.
The king of babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;
And will send unto babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.
Flee out of the midst of babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD'S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
And I will render unto babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.
The mighty men of babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.
And I will punish Bel in babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of babylon shall fall.
Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.
The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.
So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon babylon, even all these words that are written against babylon.
For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of babylon.
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
And the king of babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of babylon, into Jerusalem,
Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to babylon.
And the king of babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in babylon,
My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of babylon he shall die.
And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.
And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
For the king of babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
in the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.
Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of babylon.
Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
in the first year of Belshazzar king of babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. read more And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; show less
Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
