Isaiah 57:14-21
And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. read more I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. show less |

Romans 9:3
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: |
Moreover I will appoint a place For My People Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
Also I will ordain a place For My People Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, For My People that have sought me.
For My People have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
For My People is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do For My People, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
And they have cast lots For My People; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the People of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money For the field; take it of me, and I will bury My dead there.
And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of My People which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; For I know their sorrows;
Then Pharaoh called For Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from My People; and I will let the People go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
For I will at this time send all My plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy People; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
For now I will stretch out My hand, that I may smite thee and thy People with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
And Pharaoh sent, and called For Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and My People are wicked.
And he called For Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among My People, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the People, that they might send them out of the land in haste; For they said, We be all dead men.
Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven For you; and the People shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in My law, or no.
Hearken now unto My voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou For the People to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all People: For all the earth is mine:
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let My Lord, I pray thee, go among us; For it is a stiffnecked People; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us For thine inheritance.
And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou For My sake? would God that all the LORD'S People were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
Aaron shall be gathered unto his People: For he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against My word at the water of Meribah.
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all My People, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her For me; For she pleaseth me well.
And now, My daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: For all the city of My People doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of My People. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: For there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.
Nay, My sons; For it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD'S People to transgress.
To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over My People Israel, that he may save My People out of the hand of the Philistines: For I have looked upon My People, because their cry is come unto me.
For, as the LORD liveth, which saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan My son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the People that answered him.
And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his People Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be My servant For ever.
Now then do it: For the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of My servant David I will save My People Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.
Moreover I will appoint a place For My People Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently For My sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the People heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.
Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed For My name, will I cast out of My sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all People:
Also I will ordain a place For My People Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the People to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as For these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD My God, be on me, and on My father's house; but not on thy People, that they should be plagued.
Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, My brethren, and My People: As For me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest For the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and For the footstool of our God, and had made ready For the building:
But who am I, and what is My People, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
I know also, My God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As For me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy People, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David My father be established: For thou hast made me king over a People like the dust of the earth in multitude.
And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge For thyself, that thou mayest judge My People, over whom I have made thee king:
For we are sold, I and My People, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold For bondmen and bondwomen, I had held My tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.
For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto My People? or how can I endure to see the destruction of My kindred?
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; For in My house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the People.
As For My People, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My People, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
For he saith, By the strength of My hand I have done it, and by My wisdom; For I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the People, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
Come, My People, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were For a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
For My sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the People of My curse, to judgment.
Since thou wast precious in My sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men For thee, and People For thy life.
Hearken unto me, My People; and give ear unto me, O My nation: For a law shall proceed from me, and I will make My judgment to rest For a light of the People.
For thus saith the Lord GOD, My People went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that My People is taken away For nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and My name continually every day is blasphemed.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of My People was he stricken.
Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; For mine house shall be called an house of prayer For all People.
Thy People also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land For ever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.
I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the People there was none with me: For I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in My fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon My garments, and I will stain all My raiment.
For he said, Surely they are My People, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place For the herds to lie down in, For My People that have sought me.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: For as the days of a tree are the days of My People, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but My People have changed their glory For that which doth not profit. Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. For My People have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
For among My People are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
O daughter of My People, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as For an only son, most bitter lamentation: For the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
I have set thee For a tower and a fortress among My People, that thou mayest know and try their way.
But go ye now unto My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it For the wickedness of My People Israel.
For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My People slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
For the hurt of the daughter of My People am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.
Oh that My head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of My People!
Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave My People, and go from them! For they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; For how shall I do For the daughter of My People?
This evil People, which refuse to hear My words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good For nothing.
Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: For the virgin daughter of My People is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.
For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: For I have taken away My peace from this People, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.
Which think to cause My People to forget My name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten My name For Baal.
And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be My People, and I will be their God: For they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this People; neither shall he behold the good that I will do For My People, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of My People Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
The LORD is righteous; For I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all People, and behold My sorrow: My virgins and My young men are gone into captivity.
Mine eyes do fail with tears, My bowels are troubled, My liver is poured upon the earth, For the destruction of the daughter of My People; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.
Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water For the destruction of the daughter of My People.
For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of My People is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
And will ye pollute me among My People For handfuls of barley and For pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to My People that hear your lies?
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: For I will deliver My People out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Cry and howl, son of man: For it shall be upon My People, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon My People: smite therefore upon thy thigh.
Yea, I will make many People amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid For thee, when I shall brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man For his own life, in the day of thy fall.
And they come unto thee as the People cometh, and they sit before thee as My People, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: For with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My People of Israel; For they are at hand to come.
Yet they shall be ministers in My sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice For the People, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, For thine own sake, O My God: For thy city and thy People are called by thy name.
And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing My sin and the sin of My People Israel, and presenting My supplication before the LORD My God For the holy mountain of My God;
Then said God, Call his name Loammi: For ye are not My People, and I will not be your God.
My People are destroyed For lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
My People ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: For the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest For thee, when I returned the captivity of My People.
And they have cast lots For My People; and have given a boy For an harlot, and sold a girl For wine, that they might drink.
For her wound is incurable; For it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of My People, even to Jerusalem.
The women of My People have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away My glory For ever.
Who also eat the flesh of My People, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as For the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of My People.
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: For out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule My People Israel.
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My People.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a People:
