John 14:15-21

[15] If  ye love  keep  my  commandments.  [16] And  will pray  the Father,  and  he shall give  another  Comforter,  that  with  for  ever;  [17] Even the Spirit  of truth;  whom  the world  cannot  receive,  because  it seeth  him  not,  neither  knoweth  him:  know  him;  for  he dwelleth  with  and  in  [18] not  leave  comfortless:  I will come  to  [19] Yet  and  the world  seeth  no more;  but  see  because  live,  also.  [20] At  that  day  shall know  that  am in  Father,  and  in  and I  in  [21] He that hath  commandments,  and  keepeth  them,  he  that loveth  and  he that loveth  of  Father,  and  will love  him,  and  will manifest  myself  to him. 

What does John 14:15-21 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

At the end of His answer to Peter"s question ( John 13:36), Jesus moved the conversation back to the general theme of preparation for His departure ( John 14:4). He did the same thing after answering Philip"s question ( John 14:8). Obedience to the will of God is not only a condition for getting answers to prayer. It is also an evidence of love for God. Love for God is the controlling idea in the following verses ( John 14:15-21).
