[14] Again, when I say  unto the wicked,  Thou shalt surely  if he turn  from his sin,  and do  that which is lawful  and right;  [15] If the wicked  restore  the pledge,  give again  that he had robbed,  walk  in the statutes  of life,  without committing  iniquity;  he shall surely  he shall not die.  [16] None of his sins  that he hath committed  shall be mentioned  unto him: he hath done  that which is lawful  and right;  he shall surely

Contextual Meaning

God"s warnings that the wicked would die because of their sinfulness also needed to be understood properly. They would die only if they failed to repent. If the wicked turned from his sins and obeyed the Mosaic Law, he would not die (prematurely). God would not hold his former sins against him. He would receive his life as a reward for his righteous conduct.
