Psalms 38:1-2

Psalms 38:1-2

[1] [[A Psalm  of David,  to bring to remembrance.]]  O LORD,  rebuke  me not in thy wrath:  neither chasten  me in thy hot displeasure.  [2] For thine arrows  stick fast  in me, and thy hand  presseth me sore.

What does Psalms 38:1-2 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

David viewed his present suffering as an indication that God was very angry with him (cf. Psalm 6:1). He pictured God shooting arrows at him as though God were his enemy in battle and as pressing down on him with His cosmic hand.
