Psalms 42:1-2

Psalms 42:1-2

[1] [[To the chief Musician,  Maschil,  for the sons  of Korah.]]  As the hart  panteth  after the water  brooks,  so panteth  my soul  after thee, O God.  [2] My soul  thirsteth  for God,  for the living  God:  when shall I come  and appear  before  God?

What does Psalms 42:1-2 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

As water from a brook sustains a deer physically, so God Himself sustains people spiritually (cf. John 4:14). The psalmist was thirsty for God. He could not obtain the refreshment he needed yet, but he looked forward to finding it soon.
