[1] [[A Song  of degrees.]]  Many a time  have they afflicted  me from my youth,  may Israel  now say:  [2] Many a time  have they afflicted  me from my youth:  yet they have not prevailed  against me.

Contextual Meaning

This psalm begins, as Psalm 124did, by calling on the pilgrim Israelites to speak for the nation. The writer urged the people to acknowledge that God had enabled Israel to survive the many persecutions she had experienced throughout her history.
