John 9:1-12

John 9:1-12

[1] And  as Jesus passed by,  a man  which was blind  from  his birth.  [2] And  his  disciples  asked  him,  saying,  Master,  who  did sin,  this man,  or  his  parents,  that  he was born  blind?  [3] Jesus  answered,  Neither  this man  sinned,  nor  his  parents:  but  that  the works  of God  should be made manifest  in  him.  [4] must  work  the works  of him that sent  while  day:  the night  cometh,  when  no man  can  work.  [5] As long as  in  the world,  I am  the light  of the world.  [6] spoken,  he spat  on the ground,  and  made  clay  of  the spittle,  and  he anointed  the eyes  with the clay,  [7] And  said  unto him,  Go,  wash  in  the pool  of Siloam,  (which  is by interpretation,  Sent.)  He went his way  therefore,  and  washed,  and  came  seeing.  [8] The neighbours  therefore,  and  they which before  had seen  him  that  not  this  he that sat  and  begged?  [9] Some  This  others  said,  like  him:  but he  am  [10] Therefore  unto him,  How  eyes  opened?  [11] He  answered  and  said,  A man  that is called  Jesus  made  clay,  and  anointed  eyes,  and  said  Go  to  of Siloam,  and  wash:  I went  and  washed,  and I received sight.  [12] said they  unto him,  Where  he?  He said,  I know  not.

What does John 9:1-12 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

The exact time of this miracle and Jesus" resultant discourse is unclear. Evidently these events transpired sometime between the feast of Tabernacles ( John 7:2; John 7:10; September10-17 , A.D32.) and the feast of Dedication ( John 10:22-39; December18 , A.D32.). [1] This sixth of John"s seven select signs shows Jesus" power over misfortune. [2]
