Jeremiah 52:15-16

[15] Then Nebuzaradan  the captain  of the guard  carried away captive  certain of the poor  of the people,  and the residue  of the people  that remained  in the city,  and those that fell away,  to the king  of Babylon,  and the rest  of the multitude.  [16] But Nebuzaradan  the captain  of the guard  left  certain of the poor  of the land  for vinedressers  and for husbandmen. 

What does Jeremiah 52:15-16 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

Nebuzaradan then took some of the poorest Judahites, the rest of the residents of Jerusalem, the deserters who had defected to the Babylonians, and the remaining craftsmen-captive-to Babylon. However, he left some of the poorest Judahites in the land to care for the vineyards and fields.
