[13] And he said  unto Abram,  Know  that thy seed  shall be a stranger  in a land  that is not theirs, and shall serve  them; and they shall afflict  them four  hundred  years;  [14] And also that nation,  whom they shall serve,  will I judge:  and afterward  shall they come out  with great  substance.

Moses gave more detail regarding the history of the seed here than he had revealed previously (cf. Genesis 15:14; Genesis 15:16). The400 years of enslavement were evidently from1845 B.C. to1446 B.C, the date of the Exodus.
