1 Corinthians 16:5-12

1 Corinthians 16:5-12

[5] Now  I will come  unto  when  I shall pass through  Macedonia:  for  I do pass through  Macedonia.  [6] And  it may be  that I will abide,  yea,  and  winter  with  that  on my journey  whithersoever  I go.  [7] For  I will  not  now  by  the way;  I trust  to tarry  a while  with  if  the Lord  permit.  [8] But  I will tarry  at  Ephesus  until  Pentecost.  [9] For  a great  door  and  effectual  is opened  and  there are many  adversaries.  [10] Now  if  Timotheus  come,  see  that  he may be  with  without fear:  for  he worketh  the work  of the Lord,  as  [11] no  man  therefore  despise  him:  but  him  forth  in  peace,  that  he may come  unto  for  I look for  him  with  the brethren.  [12] As  touching  our brother  Apollos,  greatly  desired  him  to  come  unto  with  the brethren:  but  his will  not  at all  to  come  at this  time; but  he will come  when  he shall have convenient time.

What does 1 Corinthians 16:5-12 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

As the preceding verse revealed, Paul"s plans were tentative to some extent. He wanted the Corinthians to know that he anticipated a return to Corinth and hopefully a stay of several months. Timothy and Apollos might return too.
