The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. And he said, o lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.
And I came this day unto the well, and said, o lord God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:
Thy right hand, o lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, o lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
Who is like unto thee, o lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, o lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, o lord, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, o lord, which thy hands have established.
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, o lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
o lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, o lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Be merciful, o lord, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, o lord, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:
And Joshua said, Alas, o lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!

Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? o lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, o lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, o lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, o lord GOD?
Wherefore thou art great, o lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
And now, o lord God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
For thou, o lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
And now, o lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, o lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, o lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, o lord God.
o lord, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
o lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, o lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.
And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, o lord my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.
Thine, o lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, o lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. o lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:

And said, o lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts: Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
Now therefore, o lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
Now then, o lord God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.
Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, o lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

And said, o lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
o lord God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.
And said, I beseech thee, o lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
o lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Consider and hear me, o lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
{A Prayer of David.} Hear the right, o lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
Arise, o lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said,} I will love thee, o lord, my strength.

Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD. show less

{A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.} o lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
Hear my prayer, o lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

Thy mercy, o lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: o lord, thou preservest man and beast.
Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: o lord, thou preservest man and beast.
Many, o lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, o lord, thou knowest.
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, o lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
But I am poor and needy; yet the lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, o my God.
Destroy, o lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
Break their teeth, o God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, o lord.
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, o lord.
Thou therefore, o lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, o lord our shield.
Also unto thee, o lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
Let not them that wait on thee, o lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, o God of Israel.
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, o lord, in an acceptable time: o God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
Hear me, o lord; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.} Make haste, o God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, o lord.
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, o God: thou art my help and my deliverer; o lord, make no tarrying.
As a dream when one awaketh; so, o lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, o lord, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.
And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, o lord.
{To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.} How amiable are thy tabernacles, o lord of hosts!
Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, o lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Among the gods there is none like unto thee, o lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, o lord; and shall glorify thy name.
I will praise thee, o lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
But thou, o lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
{A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon Mahalath Leannoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite.} o lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:
And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, o lord: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
o lord God of hosts, who is a strong lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, o lord, in the light of thy countenance.
Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, o lord; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
{A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.} It is a good thing to give thanks unto the lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, o most High:
For, lo, thine enemies, o lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
The floods have lifted up, o lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
o lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; o God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
o come, let us sing unto the lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, o lord.
{A Psalm.} o sing unto the lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
Thou answeredst them, o lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
{A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the lord.} Hear my prayer, o lord, and let my cry come unto thee.
{A Psalm of David.} Bless the lord, o my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the lord, o my soul.
Bless the lord, o my soul. o lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
o lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the lord, o my soul. Praise ye the lord.
o give thanks unto the lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Praise ye the lord. o give thanks unto the lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Remember me, o lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: o visit me with thy salvation;
Save us, o lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
I will praise thee, o lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
But do thou for me, o GOD the lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. read more I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads. show less
Not unto us, o lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
o lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
In the courts of the lord'S house, in the midst of thee, o Jerusalem. Praise ye the lord.
o give thanks unto the lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever. read more I called upon the lord in distress: the lord answered me, and set me in a large place. The lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the lord than to put confidence in princes. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the lord will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the lord I will destroy them. They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the lord I will destroy them. Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the lord helped me. The lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the lord doeth valiantly. The right hand of the lord is exalted: the right hand of the lord doeth valiantly. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the lord. The lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. show less
I have stuck unto thy testimonies: o lord, put me not to shame. I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
VAU. Let thy mercies come also unto me, o lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
I know, o lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, o lord, and teach me thy judgments.
Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: o lord, quicken me according to thy judgment. They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law. Thou art near, o lord; and all thy commandments are truth.
Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, o lord, according to thy lovingkindness.
TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, o lord: give me understanding according to thy word.
Have mercy upon us, o lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Do good, o lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
Praise ye the lord. Praise ye the name of the lord; praise him, o ye servants of the lord.
Thy name, o lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, o lord, throughout all generations.
Remember, o lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, o lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
The lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, o lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} o lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, o lord, thou knowest it altogether. read more Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, o God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, o God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, o lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. But mine eyes are unto thee, o GOD the lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
I cried unto thee, o lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
{A Psalm of David.} Hear my prayer, o lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
Hear me speedily, o lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Quicken me, o lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.

Thou hast increased the nation, o lord, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

Hear ye this, o house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men. But the lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures. Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish. The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The lord of hosts is his name. Therefore I will judge you, o house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be inquired of by you, o house of Israel? As I live, saith the lord GOD, I will not be inquired of by you.
As for you, o house of Israel, thus saith the lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.
And ye shall know that I am the lord, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, o ye house of Israel, saith the lord GOD.
Therefore, o Aholibah, thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
Therefore thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, o Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
And say unto Tyrus, o thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the lord GOD; o Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.
And say, Thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, o Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the lord, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, o house of Israel?
Yet ye say, The way of the lord is not equal. o ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
And as for you, o my flock, thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
And say unto it, Thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, o mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.
As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, o mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the lord.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, o house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, o house of Israel.
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, o lord GOD, thou knowest.
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, o ye dry bones, hear the word of the lord.
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the lord GOD; Come from the four winds, o breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, o my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
And ye shall know that I am the lord, when I have opened your graves, o my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
And say, Thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, o Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, o Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the lord GOD; o ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,
Thus saith the lord GOD; Let it suffice you, o princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the lord GOD.
This is the interpretation, o king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
And I prayed unto the lord my God, and made my confession, and said, o lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
o lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
o lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
And now, o lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
o lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
Now therefore, o our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the lord's sake.
o lord, hear; o lord, forgive; o lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, o my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, o my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
And said, o man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, o my lord, what shall be the end of these things?
o lord, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
Let the priests, the ministers of the lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, o lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, o lord.
And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, o ye children of Israel? saith the lord.
Hear this word that the lord hath spoken against you, o children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, o house of Israel, saith the lord the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, o lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
Then said I, o lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, o children of Israel? saith the lord. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
Wherefore they cried unto the lord, and said, We beseech thee, o lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, o lord, hast done as it pleased thee.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, o lord my God.
And he prayed unto the lord, and said, I pray thee, o lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Therefore now, o lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
o thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, o daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the lord shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
Arise and thresh, o daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the lord, and their substance unto the lord of the whole earth.
Hear ye, o mountains, the lord'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
o my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the lord.
He hath shewed thee, o man, what is good; and what doth the lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
o lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
Art thou not from everlasting, o lord my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. o lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, o mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
o lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: o lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the lord is against you; o Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
Yet now be strong, o Zerubbabel, saith the lord; and be strong, o Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the lord of hosts:
In that day, saith the lord of hosts, will I take thee, o Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the lord, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the lord of hosts.
Then said I, o my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
Then the angel of the lord answered and said, o lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
Sing and rejoice, o daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the lord.
Be silent, o all flesh, before the lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
And the lord said unto Satan, The lord rebuke thee, o Satan; even the lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Awake, o sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the lord of hosts unto you, o priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, o Father, lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, o lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, o thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, o lord, thou Son of David.
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, o lord, thou Son of David.

And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, o lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
