All <i>this, said Davidi>, the LORD made me understand in writing by <i>hisi> hand upon me, <i>eveni> all the works of this pattern.
And he read therein before the street that <i>wasi> before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people <i>were attentivei> unto the book of the law.
Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people <i>stoodi> in their place.
So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused <i>themi> to understand the reading.
i would know the words <i>whichi> he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, <i>manyi> days.
i will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people <i>thati> doth not understand shall fall.
Who <i>isi> wise, and he shall understand these <i>thingsi>? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD <i>arei> right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
Therefore speak i to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and <i>theiri> ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with <i>theiri> eyes, and hear with <i>theiri> ears, and should understand with <i>theiri> heart, and should be converted, and i should heal them.
How is it that ye do not understand that i spake <i>iti> not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and <i>theiri> sins should be forgiven them.
And when he had called all the people <i>unto himi>, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one <i>of youi>, and understand: There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And when Jesus knew <i>iti>, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
But he denied, saying, i know not, neither understand i what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with <i>theiri> eyes, nor understand with <i>theiri> heart, and be converted, and i should heal them.
Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since i went up to Jerusalem for to worship.

And though i have <i>the gift ofi> prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though i have all faith, so that i could remove mountains, and have not charity, i am nothing.
But i would ye should understand, brethren, that the things <i>which happenedi> unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
