The North

And thy seed shall be as The dust of The earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to The west, and to The east, and to The north, and to The south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all The families of The earth be blessed.

And for The second side of The tabernacle on The north side there shall be twenty boards:

• Candlestick

And thou shalt set The table without The vail, and The candlestick over against The table on The side of The tabernacle toward The south: and thou shalt put The table on The north side.

And likewise for The north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; The hooks of The pillars and their fillets of silver.

And for The other side of The tabernacle, which is toward The north corner, he made twenty boards,

And for The north side The hangings were an hundred cubits, their pillars were twenty, and their sockets of brass twenty; The hooks of The pillars and their fillets of silver.

• Armies

The standard of The camp of Dan shall be on The north side by their armies: and The captain of The children of Dan shall be Ahiezer The son of Ammishaddai.

And this shall be your north border: from The great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:

And The border shall go on to Ziphron, and The goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.

And ye shall measure from without The city on The east side two thousand cubits, and on The south side two thousand cubits, and on The west side two thousand cubits, and on The north side two thousand cubits; and The city shall be in The midst: this shall be to them The suburbs of The cities.

And all The people, even The people of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before The city, and pitched on The north side of Ai: now there was a valley between them and Ai.

And when they had set The people, even all The host that was on The north of The city, and their liers in wait on The west of The city, Joshua went that night into The midst of The valley.

And to The kings that were on The north of The mountains, and of The plains south of Chinneroth, and in The valley, and in The borders of Dor on The west,

And The east border was The salt sea, even unto The end of Jordan. And their border in The north quarter was from The bay of The sea at The uttermost part of Jordan:

And The border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by The north of Betharabah; and The border went up to The stone of Bohan The son of Reuben:

And The border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto The side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on The north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

And The border went out toward The sea to Michmethah on The north side; and The border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on The east to Janohah;

And The coast descended unto The river Kanah, southward of The river: these cities of Ephraim are among The cities of Manasseh: The coast of Manasseh also was on The north side of The river, and The outgoings of it were at The sea:

Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and The sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on The north, and in Issachar on The east.

And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on The south, and The house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on The north.

And their border on The north side was from Jordan; and The border went up to The side of Jericho on The north side, and went up through The mountains westward; and The goings out thereof were at The wilderness of Bethaven.

And The border came down to The end of The mountain that lieth before The valley of The son of Hinnom, and which is in The valley of The giants on The north, and descended to The valley of Hinnom, to The side of Jebusi on The south, and descended to Enrogel,

And was drawn from The north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against The going up of Adummim, and descended to The stone of Bohan The son of Reuben,

And The border passed along to The side of Bethhoglah northward: and The outgoings of The border were at The north bay of The salt sea at The south end of Jordan: this was The south coast.

And The border compasseth it on The north side to Hannathon: and The outgoings thereof are in The valley of Jiphthahel:

And turneth toward The sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to The valley of Jiphthahel toward The north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on The left hand,

And they buried him in The border of his inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on The north side of The hill of Gaash.

Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all The people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside The well of Harod: so that The host of The Midianites were on The north side of them, by The hill of Moreh, in The valley.

• Tabernacle

Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of The LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on The north side of Bethel, on The east side of The highway that goeth up from Bethel to Shechem, and on The south of Lebonah.

It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward The north, and three looking toward The west, and three looking toward The south, and three looking toward The east: and The sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

And he brought also The brasen altar, which was before The LORD, from The forefront of The house, from between The altar and The house of The LORD, and put it on The north side of The altar.

In four quarters were The porters, toward The east, west, north, and south.

It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward The north, and three looking toward The west, and three looking toward The south, and three looking toward The east: and The sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

He stretcheth out The north over The empty place, and hangeth The earth upon nothing.

• Glory
• Purifying
• Wind

Out of The south cometh The whirlwind: and cold out of The north. By The breath of God frost is given: and The breadth of The waters is straitened.

• Glory

Fair weather cometh out of The north: with God is terrible majesty.

Beautiful for situation, The joy of The whole earth, is mount Zion, on The sides of The north, The city of The great King.

The north and The south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.

And gathered them out of The lands, from The east, and from The west, from The north, and from The south.

• Wind

The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

The wind goeth toward The south, and turneth about unto The north; it whirleth about continually, and The wind returneth again according to his circuits.

If The clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon The earth: and if The tree fall toward The south, or toward The north, in The place where The tree falleth, there it shall be.

• WIND

Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that The spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above The stars of God: I will sit also upon The mount of The congregation, in The sides of The north:

Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from The north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

I have raised up one from The north, and he shall come: from The rising of The sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as The potter treadeth clay.

I will say to The north, Give up; and to The south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from The ends of The earth;

Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from The north and from The west; and these from The land of Sinim.

• Vision

And The word of The LORD came unto me The second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and The face thereof is toward The north.

Then The LORD said unto me, Out of The north an evil shall break forth upon all The inhabitants of The land.

For, lo, I will call all The families of The kingdoms of The north, saith The LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at The entering of The gates of Jerusalem, and against all The walls thereof round about, and against all The cities of Judah.

Go and proclaim these words toward The north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith The LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith The LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.

In those days The house of Judah shall walk with The house of Israel, and they shall come together out of The land of The north to The land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

• Standard

Set up The standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from The north, and a great destruction.

O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of The midst of Jerusalem, and blow The trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of The north, and great destruction.

Thus saith The LORD, Behold, a people cometh from The north country, and a great nation shall be raised from The sides of The earth.

Behold, The noise of The bruit is come, and a great commotion out of The north country, to make The cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from The north: where is The flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

But, The LORD liveth, that brought up The children of Israel from The land of The north, and from all The lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.

But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led The seed of The house of Israel out of The north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

Behold, I will send and take all The families of The north, saith The LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar The king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against The inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

And all The kings of The north, far and near, one with another, and all The kingdoms of The world, which are upon The face of The earth: and The king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

Behold, I will bring them from The north country, and gather them from The coasts of The earth, and with them The blind and The lame, The woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

Let not The swift flee away, nor The mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward The north by The river Euphrates.

For this is The day of The Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and The sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for The Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in The north country by The river Euphrates.

Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of The north.

The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into The hand of The people of The north.

Thus saith The LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of The north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow The land, and all that is therein; The city, and them that dwell therein: then The men shall cry, and all The inhabitants of The land shall howl.

For out of The north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from The north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

Behold, a people shall come from The north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from The coasts of The earth.

Then The heaven and The earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for The spoilers shall come unto her from The north, saith The LORD.

• Whirlwind

And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of The north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of The midst thereof as The colour of amber, out of The midst of The fire.

And he put forth The form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and The spirit lifted me up between The earth and The heaven, and brought me in The visions of God to Jerusalem, to The door of The inner gate that looketh toward The north; where was The seat of The image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now The way toward The north. So I lifted up mine eyes The way toward The north, and behold northward at The gate of The altar this image of jealousy in The entry.

Then he brought me to The door of The gate of The LORD'S house which was toward The north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

• Linen

And, behold, six men came from The way of The higher gate, which lieth toward The north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside The brasen altar.

And say to The forest of The south, Hear The word of The LORD; Thus saith The Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: The flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from The south to The north shall be burned therein.

Seeing then that I will cut off from thee The righteous and The wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from The south to The north:

For thus saith The Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from The north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.

There be The princes of The north, all of them, and all The Zidonians, which are gone down with The slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by The sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to The pit.

Gomer, and all his bands; The house of Togarmah of The north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

And thou shalt come from thy place out of The north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

And I will turn thee back, and leave but The sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from The north parts, and will bring thee upon The mountains of Israel:

And The gate of The outward court that looked toward The north, he measured The length thereof, and The breadth thereof.

And The gate of The inner court was over against The gate toward The north, and toward The east; and he measured from gate to gate an hundred cubits.

And he brought me to The north gate, and measured it according to these measures;

And at The side without, as one goeth up to The entry of The north gate, were two tables; and on The other side, which was at The porch of The gate, were two tables.

And without The inner gate were The chambers of The singers in The inner court, which was at The side of The north gate; and their prospect was toward The south: one at The side of The east gate having The prospect toward The north.

And The chamber whose prospect is toward The north is for The priests, The keepers of The charge of The altar: these are The sons of Zadok among The sons of Levi, which come near to The LORD to minister unto him.

And The doors of The side chambers were toward The place that was left, one door toward The north, and another door toward The south: and The breadth of The place that was left was five cubits round about.

Then he brought me forth into The utter court, The way toward The north: and he brought me into The chamber that was over against The separate place, and which was before The building toward The north.

Before The length of an hundred cubits was The north door, and The breadth was fifty cubits.

And before The chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors toward The north.

And The way before them was like The appearance of The chambers which were toward The north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.

• Offerings

Then said he unto me, The north chambers and The south chambers, which are before The separate place, they be holy chambers, where The priests that approach unto The LORD shall eat The most holy things: there shall they lay The most holy things, and The meat offering, and The sin offering, and The trespass offering; for The place is holy.

He measured The north side, five hundred reeds, with The measuring reed round about.

Then brought he me The way of The north gate before The house: and I looked, and, behold, The glory of The LORD filled The house of The LORD: and I fell upon my face.

• Temple

But when The people of The land shall come before The LORD in The solemn feasts, he that entereth in by The way of The north gate to worship shall go out by The way of The south gate; and he that entereth by The way of The south gate shall go forth by The way of The north gate: he shall not return by The way of The gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.

After he brought me through The entry, which was at The side of The gate, into The holy chambers of The priests, which looked toward The north: and, behold, there was a place on The two sides westward.

And this shall be The border of The land toward The north side, from The great sea, The way of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad;

And The border from The sea shall be Hazarenan, The border of Damascus, and The north northward, and The border of Hamath. And this is The north side.

Now these are The names of The tribes. From The north end to The coast of The way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazarenan, The border of Damascus northward, to The coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan.

And for them, even for The priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward The north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward The west ten thousand in breadth, and toward The east ten thousand in breadth, and toward The south five and twenty thousand in length: and The sanctuary of The LORD shall be in The midst thereof.

And these shall be The measures thereof; The north side four thousand and five hundred, and The south side four thousand and five hundred, and on The east side four thousand and five hundred, and The west side four thousand and five hundred.

And The suburbs of The city shall be toward The north two hundred and fifty, and toward The south two hundred and fifty, and toward The east two hundred and fifty, and toward The west two hundred and fifty.

And these are The goings out of The city on The north side, four thousand and five hundred measures.

And in The end of years they shall join themselves together; for The king's daughter of The south shall come to The king of The north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain The power of The arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.

But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into The fortress of The king of The north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:

And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than The king of The north.

And The king of The south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with The king of The north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but The multitude shall be given into his hand.

For The king of The north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than The former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.

• Fortifications
• Armies

So The king of The north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take The most fenced cities: and The arms of The south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.

And at The time of The end shall The king of The south push at him: and The king of The north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into The countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

But tidings out of The east and out of The north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from The north even to The east, they shall run to and fro to seek The word of The LORD, and shall not find it.

And he will stretch out his hand against The north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from The land of The north, saith The LORD: for I have spread you abroad as The four winds of The heaven, saith The LORD.

The black horses which are therein go forth into The north country; and The white go forth after them; and The grisled go forth toward The south country.

Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward The north country have quieted my spirit in The north country.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon The mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on The east, and The mount of Olives shall cleave in The midst thereof toward The east and toward The west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of The mountain shall remove toward The north, and half of it toward The south.

And they shall come from The east, and from The west, and from The north, and from The south, and shall sit down in The kingdom of God.

And because The haven was not commodious to winter in, The more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward The south west and north west.

On The east three gates; on The north three gates; on The south three gates; and on The west three gates.
