Matthew 10:24-39
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. read more And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. show less |

Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, a dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, Not to fan, nor to cleanse,
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is Not the LORD in Zion? is Not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?
Therefore pray Not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will Not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would Not hear.
Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them Not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.
And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return Not from their ways.

Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way Not cast up;
Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken Not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD'S house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

Considerest thou Not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
Now while he was Not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
For thou art Not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst Not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall Not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth Not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?
But I say, Did Not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Which in time past were Not a people, but are now the people of God: which had Not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
