Inheritance Of

And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their Inheritance.

Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine Inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.

And ye shall take them as an Inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us Inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.

And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no Inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine Inheritance among the children of Israel.

And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an Inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.

But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no Inheritance.

But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no Inheritance.

Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your Inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

Unto these the land shall be divided for an Inheritance according to the number of names.

To many thou shalt give the more Inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less Inheritance: to every one shall his Inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.

And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no Inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an Inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the Inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his Inheritance to pass unto his daughter.

And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his Inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.

We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his Inheritance.

We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our Inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.

And ye shall divide the land by lot for an Inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more Inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less Inheritance: every man's Inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.

Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an Inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their Inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their Inheritance:

And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by Inheritance.

These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the Inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the Inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his Inheritance which he inheriteth.

And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an Inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the Inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.

And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their Inheritance be taken from the Inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the Inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our Inheritance.

And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their Inheritance be put unto the Inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their Inheritance be taken away from the Inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

So shall not the Inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the Inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

And every daughter, that possesseth an Inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the Inheritance of his fathers.

Neither shall the Inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own Inheritance.

And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their Inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of Inheritance, as ye are this day.

I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine Inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor Inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor Inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his Inheritance.

Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine Inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an Inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:

His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an Inheritance.

Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an Inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.

And we took their land, and gave it for an Inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

When the most High divided to the nations their Inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his Inheritance.

Moses commanded us a law, even the Inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an Inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an Inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

Now therefore divide this land for an Inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,

With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their Inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;

Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none Inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their Inheritance, as he said unto them.

And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben Inheritance according to their families.

And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the Inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

And Moses gave Inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.

This is the Inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

And Moses gave Inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.

These are the countries which Moses did distribute for Inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.

But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any Inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their Inheritance, as he said unto them.

And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for Inheritance to them.

By lot was their Inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

For Moses had given the Inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none Inheritance among them.

And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an Inheritance.

Hebron therefore became the Inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.

This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their Inheritance.

And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their Inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar, unto Bethhoron the upper;

The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the Inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an Inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an Inheritance among the brethren of their father.

Because the daughters of Manasseh had an Inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their Inheritance.

Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the Inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their Inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their Inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the Inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.

And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the Inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their Inheritance was within the Inheritance of the children of Judah.

And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.

Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the Inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their Inheritance within the Inheritance of them.

And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their Inheritance was unto Sarid:

This is the Inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

And the coast of their Inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,

This is the Inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

When they had made an end of dividing the land for Inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an Inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:

• Tabernacle

These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an Inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their Inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

And they buried him in the border of his Inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.

And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the Inheritance of the children of Joseph.

And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his Inheritance to possess the land. And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old. And they buried him in the border of his Inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash. read more And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed. Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them. And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not. Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua. show less

And they buried him in the border of his Inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.

In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought them an Inheritance to dwell in; for unto that day all their Inheritance had not fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel.

And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the Inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.

And they said, There must be an Inheritance for them that be escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.

And the children of Benjamin did so, and took them wives, according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went and returned unto their Inheritance, and repaired the cities, and dwelt in them.

And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went out from thence every man to his Inheritance.

Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his Inheritance.

Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an Inheritance to your children for ever.

And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his Inheritance.

For what portion of God is there from above? and what Inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them Inheritance among their brethren.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine Inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

The LORD is the portion of mine Inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their Inheritance shall be for ever.

He shall choose our Inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

And thou shalt take thine Inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for Inheritance.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the Inheritance thereof shall be his sons'; it shall be their possession by Inheritance.

But if he give a gift of his Inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his Inheritance shall be his sons' for them.

Moreover the prince shall not take of the people's Inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but he shall give his sons Inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.

And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an Inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have Inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.

This is the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for Inheritance, and these are their portions, saith the Lord GOD.

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. show less

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an Inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and Inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

For if the Inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his Inheritance in the saints,

• Heaven

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any Inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the Inheritance of the saints in light:

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the Inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal Inheritance.
