Jeremiah 22:6
For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited. |

Judges 11:1
Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. |
And they dwelt in Gilead In Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him Inspan> the mount Gileadspan>.
Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent Inspan> the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched Inspan> the mount of Gileadspan>.
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there Inspan> the cities of Gileadspan>:
And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gileadspan>, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which wasi> Inspan> it.
All the cities of the plain, and all Gileadspan>, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og Inspan> Bashan.
Namelyi>, Bezer Inspan> the wilderness, Inspan> the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth Inspan> Gileadspan>, of the Gadites; and Golan Inspan> Bashan, of the Manassites.
Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt Inspan> Heshbon, andi> ruled from Aroer, which isi> upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gileadspan>, even unto the river Jabbok, which isi> the border of the children of Ammon;
And reigned Inspan> mount Hermon, and Inspan> Salcah, and Inspan> all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gileadspan>, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
And half Gileadspan>, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og Inspan> Bashan, were pertainingi> unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, eveni> to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.
And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer Inspan> the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth Inspan> Gileadspan> out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan Inspan> Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.
And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth Inspan> Gileadspan> with her suburbs, to bei> a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which isi> Inspan> the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gileadspan>, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
Gileadspan> abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain Inspan> ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode Inspan> his breaches.
Now therefore go to, proclaim Inspan> the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever isi> fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gileadspan>. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havothjair unto this day, which arei> Inspan> the land of Gileadspan>.
And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that werei> on the other side Jordan Inspan> the land of the Amorites, which isi> Inspan> Gileadspan>.
Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped Inspan> Gileadspan>. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped Inspan> Mizpeh.
And Gileadspan>'s wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit Inspan> our father's house; for thou arti> the son of a strange woman.
And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gileadspan>, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are Inspan> distress?
Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gileadspan>, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD Inspan> Mizpeh.
And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried Inspan> one ofi> the cities of Gileadspan>.
Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gileadspan>, unto the LORD Inspan> Mizpeh.
And some ofi> the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gileadspan>. As for Saul, he wasi> yet Inspan> Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
So Israel and Absalom pitched Inspan> the land of Gileadspan>.
The son of Geber, Inspan> Ramothgilead; to him pertainedi> the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which arei> Inspan> Gileadspan>; to him also pertainedi> the region of Argob, which isi> Inspan> Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:
Geber the son of Uri wasi> Inspan> the country of Gileadspan>, Inspan>i> the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he wasi> the only officer which wasi> Inspan> the land.
And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth Inspan> Gileadspan> isi> ours, and we bei> still, andi> take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
Inspan> the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gileadspan>, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
And afterward Hezron went Inspan> to the daughter of Machir the father of Gileadspan>, whom he married when he wasi> threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities Inspan> the land of Gileadspan>.
And eastward he inhabited unto the entering Inspan> of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied Inspan> the land of Gileadspan>.
And Inspan> the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt Inspan> their tents throughout all the east landi> of Gileadspan>.
And they dwelt Inspan> Gileadspan> Inspan> Bashan, and Inspan> her towns, and Inspan> all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
And out of the tribe of Gad; Ramoth Inspan> Gileadspan> with her suburbs, and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
Among the Hebronites wasi> Jerijah the chief, eveni> among the Hebronites, according to the generations of his fathers. Inspan> the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valour at Jazer of Gileadspan>.
Of the half tribei> of Manasseh Inspan> Gileadspan>, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:
Is therei> no balm Inspan> Gileadspan>; is therei> no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
Go up into Gileadspan>, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: Inspan> vain shalt thou use many medicines; fori> thou shalt not be cured.
Is therei> iniquity Inspan>i> Gileadspan>? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks Inspan> Gilgal; yea, their altars arei> as heaps Inspan> the furrows of the fields.
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily Inspan>i> the wood, Inspan> the midst of Carmel: let them feed Inspan>i> Bashan and Gileadspan>, as Inspan> the days of old.
