For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.
But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:
But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great Judgments:
But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great Judgments.
And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the Judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
Ye shall do my Judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my Judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my Judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my Judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.
Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my Judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.
Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my Judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my Judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my Judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.
These are the statutes and Judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed Judgments.
Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these Judgments:
These are the commandments and the Judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the Judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Behold, I have taught you statutes and Judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and Judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and Judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the Judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,
And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and Judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the Judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the Judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: read more And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. show less
And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the Judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the Judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these Judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his Judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his Judgments, and his commandments, alway.
And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and Judgments which I set before you this day.
These are the statutes and Judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and Judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his Judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his Judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
They shall teach Jacob thy Judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the LORD, and his Judgments with Israel.
For all his Judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his Judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my Judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his Judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my Judgments:
Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my Judgments, as did David his father.
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the Judgments of his mouth;
Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and Judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my Judgments, as at this day.
And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my Judgments;
And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and Judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the Judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right Judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy Judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his Judgments and his statutes;
His ways are always grievous; thy Judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the Judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy Judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
{A Psalm for Solomon.} Give the king thy Judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy Judgments, O LORD.
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the Judgments of his mouth;
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous Judgments.
With my lips have I declared all the Judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. read more GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy Judgments at all times. Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments. Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellers. DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously. I have chosen the way of truth: thy Judgments have I laid before me. I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame. I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy Judgments are good. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness. VAU. Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy Judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever. And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes. ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law. I remembered thy Judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself. Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law. This I had, because I kept thy precepts. CHETH. Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words. I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law. At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous Judgments. I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts. The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes. TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes. The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart. Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. show less
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy Judgments.
I know, O LORD, that thy Judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy Judgments.
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous Judgments endureth for ever.
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his Judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
Yea, in the way of thy Judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy Judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
And I will utter my Judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy Judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
And she hath changed my Judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my Judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my Judgments, neither have done according to the Judgments of the nations that are round about you;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute Judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute Judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.
So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute Judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my Judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore Judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute Judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my Judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my Judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my Judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.
But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my Judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
Because they despised my Judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their Judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my Judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.
Because they had not executed my Judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and Judgments whereby they should not live;
And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their Judgments.
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed Judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.
And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed Judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.
And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute Judgments in No.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my Judgments, and do them.
And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my Judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my Judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.
We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy Judgments:
Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy Judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
The LORD hath taken away thy Judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and Judgments.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his Judgments, and his ways past finding out!
If then ye have Judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy Judgments are made manifest.
And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy Judgments.
For true and righteous are his Judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
