And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the Stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather Stones; and they took Stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.

Onyx Stones, and Stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.

And thou shalt take two onyx Stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:

With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two Stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold.

And thou shalt put the two Stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for Stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

And thou shalt set in it settings of Stones, even four rows of Stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.

And the Stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.

And in cutting of Stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be Stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

And they set in it four rows of Stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.

Then the priest shall command that they take away the Stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:

And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the Stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered;

And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of Stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole Stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:

And thou shalt write upon the Stones all the words of this law very plainly.

And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve Stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these Stones?

Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these Stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve Stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

And Joshua set up twelve Stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

And those twelve Stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these Stones?

And they raised over him a great heap of Stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.

As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole Stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.

And he wrote there upon the Stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great Stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great Stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.

Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling Stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.

And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth Stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious Stones: and it was set on David's head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.

And he cast Stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the Stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

And Elijah took twelve Stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

And with the Stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling Stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.

And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious Stones in it; and it was set upon David's head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.

And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought Stones to build the house of God.

And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious Stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.

And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious Stones.

And the king made silver in Jerusalem as Stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.

Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with Stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant Stones.

The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling Stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.

But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in Stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
