Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth Children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

And Ephron dwelt among the Children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the Children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,

Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the Children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the Children of Keturah.

And the Children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.

And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the Children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for an hundred pieces of money.

And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the Children of Seir in the land of Edom.

And the Children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.

And the Children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his Children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my Children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

And the Children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.

Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's Children shall bow down before thee.

The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the Children of Heth.

And Joseph saw Ephraim's Children of the third generation: the Children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

And Joseph took an oath of the Children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.

Now these are the names of the Children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

And the Children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the Children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the Children of Israel:

And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the Children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

And the officers of the Children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?

Then the officers of the Children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?

And the officers of the Children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.

And I have also heard the groaning of the Children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

Wherefore say unto the Children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

And Moses spake so unto the Children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the Children of Israel go out of his land.

And Moses spake before the LORD, saying, Behold, the Children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the Children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the Children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the Children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the Children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the Children of Israel out of his land.

But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the Children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the Children of Israel from among them.

And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the Children's of Israel.

And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the Children of Israel died not one.

Only in the land of Goshen, where the Children of Israel were, was there no hail.

And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the Children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the Children of Israel go.

They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the Children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

But against any of the Children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the Children of Israel go out of his land.

And it shall come to pass, when your Children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the Children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

And the Children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the Children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also. It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the Children of Israel in their generations.

Thus did all the Children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the Children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the Children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy Children shalt thou redeem.

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my Children I redeem.

But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the Children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the Children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

For Pharaoh will say of the Children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the Children of Israel: and the Children of Israel went out with an high hand.

And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the Children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the Children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the Children of Israel, that they go forward:

But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the Children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

And the Children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

But the Children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

Then sang Moses and the Children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the Children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the Children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the Children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the Children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. read more And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily. And Moses and Aaron said unto all the Children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us? And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD. And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the Children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings. And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the Children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the Children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the Children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. And the Children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none. And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people rested on the seventh day. And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt. And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. And the Children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan. And the whole congregation of the Children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the Children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

I have heard the murmurings of the Children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.

And when the Children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

And the Children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

And the Children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

And all the congregation of the Children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our Children and our cattle with thirst?

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the Children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

In the third month, when the Children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.

And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the Children of Israel;

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the Children of Israel.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the Children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the Children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her Children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.

And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my Children; I will not go out free:

And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your Children fatherless.

And he sent young men of the Children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.

And upon the nobles of the Children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the Children of Israel.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the Children of Israel.

And thou shalt command the Children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. read more And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work. It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together. And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the Children of Israel: Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth. With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the Children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold. And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the Children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial. And thou shalt make ouches of gold; And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches. And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof. And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row. And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings. And the stones shall be with the names of the Children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes. And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen work of pure gold. And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate. And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it. And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate in the border thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward. And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod. And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod. And Aaron shall bear the names of the Children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually. And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the Children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually. And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue. And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent. And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about: A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe round about. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not. And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be. And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the Children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD. And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework. And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach: And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him. show less

And there I will meet with the Children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

When thou takest the sum of the Children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

And thou shalt take the atonement money of the Children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the Children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

And thou shalt speak unto the Children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

Speak thou also unto the Children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Wherefore the Children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

It is a sign between me and the Children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats' hair. And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate; And spice, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. The Children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses. And Moses said unto the Children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work. And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work. show less

And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the Children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,

And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.

The Children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

And Moses said unto the Children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;

And they received of Moses all the offering, which the Children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.

And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the Children of Israel.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the Children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

To the end that the Children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.

Therefore I said unto the Children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

And whatsoever man there be of the Children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the Children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.

Speak unto all the congregation of the Children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the Children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the Children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD.

Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the Children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.

And they shall not profane the holy things of the Children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;

Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the Children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering;

Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the Children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

Speak unto the Children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God. And Moses spake to the Children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the Children of Israel.

And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his Children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

Moreover of the Children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your Children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the Children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his Children with him.

For unto me the Children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your Children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.

These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the Children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy estimation.

These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the Children of Israel in mount Sinai.

Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the Children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;

Of the Children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

And the Children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Joseph, namely, of the Children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

Of the Children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

So were all those that were numbered of the Children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;

Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the Children of Israel:

And the Children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.

But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the Children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.

And the Children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

Every man of the Children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch.

And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the Children of Judah.

And those that do pitch next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and Nethaneel the son of Zuar shall be captain of the Children of Issachar.

Then the tribe of Zebulun: and Eliab the son of Helon shall be captain of the Children of Zebulun.

On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies: and the captain of the Children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

And those which pitch by him shall be the tribe of Simeon: and the captain of the Children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the captain of the Children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of the Children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the captain of the Children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.

Then the tribe of Naphtali: and the captain of the Children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.

These are those which were numbered of the Children of Israel by the house of their fathers: all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

But the Levites were not numbered among the Children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

And the Children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.

And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no Children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father.

And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the Children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the Children of Israel.

And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the Children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the Children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;

Number the Children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the Children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the Children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the Children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the Children of Israel.

And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the firstborn among the Children of Israel.

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the Children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the LORD.

And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the Children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;

Of the firstborn of the Children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:

Command the Children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

And the Children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the Children of Israel.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;

And every offering of all the holy things of the Children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,

Speak unto the Children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD:

Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the Children of Israel, saying unto them,

And they shall put my name upon the Children of Israel; and I will bless them.

On the fourth day Elizur the son of Shedeur, prince of the Children of Reuben, did offer:

On the fifth day Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, prince of the Children of Simeon, did offer:

On the sixth day Eliasaph the son of Deuel, prince of the Children of Gad, offered:

On the seventh day Elishama the son of Ammihud, prince of the Children of Ephraim, offered:

On the eighth day offered Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, prince of the Children of Manasseh:

On the ninth day Abidan the son of Gideoni, prince of the Children of Benjamin, offered:

On the tenth day Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai, prince of the Children of Dan, offered:

On the eleventh day Pagiel the son of Ocran, prince of the Children of Asher, offered:

On the twelfth day Ahira the son of Enan, prince of the Children of Naphtali, offered:

Take the Levites from among the Children of Israel, and cleanse them.

And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the Children of Israel together:

And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the Children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the Children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the Children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

For they are wholly given unto me from among the Children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the Children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

For all the firstborn of the Children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the Children of Israel.

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the Children of Israel, to do the service of the Children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the Children of Israel: that there be no plague among the Children of Israel, when the Children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the Children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the Children of Israel unto them.

Let the Children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season.

And Moses spake unto the Children of Israel, that they should keep the passover.

And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the Children of Israel.

And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the Children of Israel?

Speak unto the Children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD.

And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the Children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the Children of Israel pitched their tents.

At the commandment of the LORD the Children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.

And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the Children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not.

Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the Children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.

And the Children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

And the standard of the camp of the Children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

And over the host of the tribe of the Children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

And over the host of the tribe of the Children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

Thus were the journeyings of the Children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the Children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the Children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the Children of Israel.

And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the Children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

• Grape

The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the Children of Israel cut down from thence.

And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the Children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
