A town in the "plain" of Judah. It has been identified with Beit Nuzib, about 14 miles south-west of Jerusalem, in the Wady Sur (Joshua 15:43 ).

NEZIB. A town in the ShephÃ§lah of Judah ( Joshua 15:43 ); the present Beit Nusib , 7 Roman miles from Eleutheropolis on the road to Hebron.

("garrison".) A city in the shephelah or "lower hills" of Judah (Joshua 15:43). Between Eleutheropolis and Hebron. Now Beit Nusib or Chirbeh Nasib, on an elevation at the S. of wady es Sur, in the region of the hills between the mountains and the plain. The accuracy of Scripture in its geographical hints is remarkable.
