KJV: And it came to pass, when he made mention  of the ark  of God,  that he fell  from off the seat  backward  by  the side  of the gate,  and his neck  brake,  and he died:  for he was an old  man,  And he had judged  Israel  forty  years. 

1 Samuel 7:2
Literal: So it was that remained the ark in Kirjath Jearim and long a time and it was [there] twenty years and lamented all the house of Israel after Yahweh -

KJV: So Absalom  dwelt  two full  years  in Jerusalem,  and saw  not the king's  face. 

2 Samuel 15:7
Literal: And it came to pass after forty years that said Absalom to the king let me go please and pay - the vow which I made to Yahweh to Hebron
