Literal: Upon thus I command you saying three cities You shall separate for yourself -
KJV: Wherefore I command  thee, saying,  Thou shalt separate  three  cities  for thee.

Literal: and if you keep - all commandment this and do them which I command you today to love Yahweh your God and to walk in His ways ever always then you shall add for yourself more three cities besides three these

Literal: When you besiege unto a city for a time long while making war against it to take it not you shall destroy - its trees by wielding against them an ax if of them you can eat and them not do cut down for the [is] man's [food] tree of the field to use in the face of the siege

Literal: only the trees which you know that not trees for food are - you may destroy and cut down and to build siegeworks against the city that it makes with you war until it is subdued -

Literal: And shall be the city doomed to destruction it and all who [are] in it by Yahweh only Rahab the harlot shall live she who [are] with her in the house because she hid - the messengers that we sent

Literal: And it will be when you have taken - the city [that] you shall set the city on fire According to the commandment of Yahweh you shall do See I have commanded you

Literal: And it came to pass when saw [it] the king of Ai that hurried and rose early and went out the men of the city against Israel to battle he and all his people at an appointed place before the plain but he not did know that [there was] an ambush against him behind the city
KJV: And it came to pass, when the king  of Ai  saw  it, that they hasted  and rose up early,  and the men  of the city  went out  against  Israel  to battle,  he and all his people,  at a time appointed,  before  the plain;  but he wist  not that there were liers in ambush  against him behind  the city.

Literal: So were called together all the people who [were] - in Ai To pursue them and they pursued after Joshua and were drawn away from the city
KJV: And all the people  were called  together to pursue  after  them: and they pursued  after  Joshua,  and were drawn away  from the city.

Literal: And not there was left a man in Ai or Bethel who not did go out after Israel so they left - the city open and pursued Israel -
KJV: And there was not a man  left  in Ai  or Bethel,  that went not out  after  Israel:  and they left  the city  open,  and pursued  after Israel.

Literal: And said Yahweh to Joshua Stretch out the battle lance that [is] in your hand toward Ai for into your hand I will give it and stretched out Joshua that [was] in his hand the city
KJV: And the LORD  said  unto Joshua,  Stretch out  the spear  that is in thy hand  toward Ai;  for I will give  it into thine hand.  And Joshua  stretched out  the spear  that he had in his hand  toward the city. 

Joshua 8:19
Literal: So [those in] ambush arose quickly out of their place and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand and they entered the city and took it and hurried and to set - the city on fire
KJV: And the ambush  arose  quickly  out of their place,  and they ran  as soon as he had stretched out  his hand:  and they entered  into the city,  and took  it, and hasted  and set  the city  on fire. 

Joshua 8:20
Literal: And when looked the men of Ai behind them and they saw and behold ascended the smoke of the city to heaven so no had they power to flee this way or that way and the people who had fled to the wilderness turned back on the pursuers
KJV: of Ai  looked  behind  them, they saw,  and, behold, the smoke  of the city  ascended up  to heaven,  and they had no power  to flee  this way or that way:  and the people  that fled  to the wilderness  turned back  upon the pursuers. 

Joshua 8:21
Literal: And when Joshua and all Israel saw that had taken the ambush - the city that ascended the smoke of the city and they turned back and struck down the men of Ai
KJV: And when Joshua  and all Israel  saw  that the ambush  had taken  the city,  and that the smoke  of the city  ascended,  then they turned again,  and slew  the men  of Ai.

Literal: And these came out of the city against them so they were [caught] of Israel in the midst these on this [side] on this [side] and they struck down them so that none they let of them remain or escape
KJV: And the other  issued out  of the city  against  them; so they were in the midst  of Israel,  some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote  them, so that  they let  none of them remain  or escape.

Literal: Only the livestock and the spoil of city that took as booty for themselves Israel according to the word of Yahweh which He had commanded - Joshua

Literal: That they feared greatly because a city great Gibeon [was] like one of cities the royal and because it [was] greater than Ai and all its men [were] mighty

Literal: And you not do stay [there] [but] pursue after your enemies and attack rear [guard] their not do allow them to enter into their cities for has delivered them Yahweh your God into your hand

Literal: And it came to pass while made an end Joshua and the sons of Israel of slaying them with a slaughter great very till they had finished that those who escaped of them them and entered into cities fortified

Literal: All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the sons of Israel cities forty and [were] eight and with their common-lands
KJV: All the cities  of the Levites  within  the possession  of the children  of Israel  were forty  and eight  cities  with their suburbs. 

Joshua 21:42
Literal: Had cities these each every one and its common-land surrounding it thus [were] all these -
KJV: These cities  with their suburbs  round about  them: thus were all these cities. 

Joshua 24:13
Literal: And I have given you a land for which not you did labor in and cities which not you did build and you dwell in them of the vineyards and olive groves you did plant you eat
KJV: And I have given  you a land  for which ye did not labour,  and cities  which ye built  not, and ye dwell  in them; of the vineyards  and oliveyards  which ye planted  not do ye eat. 

Judges 1:8
Literal: And fought the sons of Judah against Jerusalem and took it and they struck it with the edge of the sword and the city set on fire
KJV: Now the children  of Judah  had fought  against Jerusalem,  and had taken  it, and smitten  it with the edge  of the sword,  and set  the city  on fire.

KJV: And the children  of the Kenite,  Moses'  father in law,  went up  out of the city  of palm trees  with the children  of Judah  into the wilderness  of Judah,  which lieth in the south  of Arad;  and dwelt  among  the people. 

Judges 1:17
Literal: And went Judah with Simeon his brother and they attacked - the Canaanite who inhabited Zephath and utterly destroyed it so was called the name of the city Hormah
KJV: And Judah  with Simeon  his brother,  and they slew  the Canaanites  that inhabited  Zephath,  and utterly destroyed  it. And the name  of the city  was called  Hormah. 

Judges 1:23
Literal: So sent men to spy out the house of Joseph in Bethel And the name of the city [was] formerly Luz
KJV: And the house  of Joseph  sent to descry  Bethel.  (Now the name  of the city  before  was Luz.) 

Judges 1:24
Literal: And when saw the spies a man coming out of the city and they said to him show us please - the entrance to the city and we will show you mercy
KJV: And the spies  saw  a man  come forth  out of the city,  and they said  unto him, Shew  us, we pray thee, the entrance  into the city,  and we will shew  thee mercy. 

Judges 1:25
Literal: So he showed them - the entrance to the city and they struck the city with the edge of the sword but the man and all his family they let go
KJV: And when he shewed  them the entrance  into the city,  they smote  the city  with the edge  of the sword;  but they let go  the man  and all his family.

Literal: And went the man to the land of the Hittites and built a city and called its name Luz that [is] its name to day this -
KJV: And the man  into the land  of the Hittites,  and built  a city,  and called  the name  thereof Luz:  which is the name  thereof unto this day. 

Judges 3:13
Literal: And he gathered to himself - the sons of Ammon and Amalek and went and defeated Israel and took possession of the city Palm City
KJV: And he gathered  unto him the children  of Ammon  and Amalek,  and smote  Israel,  and possessed  the city  of palm trees. 

Judges 6:27
Literal: So took Gideon ten men from among his servants and did as had said to him Yahweh but because he feared too much - household of his father and the men of the city to do [it] by day and he did [it] by night
KJV: Then Gideon  took  ten  of his servants,  and did  as the LORD  had said  unto him: and so it was, because he feared  his father's  household,  of the city,  that he could not do  it by day,  that he did  it by night. 

Judges 6:28
Literal: And when arose early the men of the city in the morning and there was torn down the altar of Baal and the wooden image that [was] beside it was cut down and the bull second was being offered on the altar [which had been] built
KJV: of the city  arose early  in the morning,  behold, the altar  of Baal  was cast down,  and the grove  was cut down  that was by it, and the second  bullock  was offered  upon the altar  that was built. 

Judges 6:30
Literal: And said the men of the city to Joash bring out - your son that he may die because he has torn down the altar of Baal and because he has cut down the wooden image that [was] beside it
KJV: of the city  said  unto Joash,  Bring out  thy son,  that he may die:  because he hath cast down  the altar  of Baal,  and because he hath cut down  the grove

Literal: And he took - the elders of the city and thorns of the wilderness briers and he taught with them - the men of Succoth
KJV: And he took  the elders  of the city,  and thorns  of the wilderness  and briers,  and with them he taught  of Succoth.

Literal: And the tower of Penuel he tore down and killed - the men of the city
KJV: And he beat down  the tower  of Penuel,  and slew  of the city. 

Judges 8:27
Literal: And made it Gideon into an ephod and set up in his city Ophrah and played the harlot all Israel with it there and it became to Gideon and to his house a snare
KJV: And Gideon  made  an ephod  thereof, and put  it in his city,  even in Ophrah:  and all Israel  went thither a whoring  after  it: which thing became a snare  unto Gideon,  and to his house. 

Judges 9:30
Literal: And when heard Zebul the ruler of the city - the words of Gaal son of Ebed and was aroused his anger
KJV: And when Zebul  the ruler  of the city  heard  the words  of Gaal  the son  of Ebed,  his anger  was kindled. 

Judges 9:31
Literal: And he sent messengers to Abimelech secretly saying take note Gaal son of Ebed and his brothers have come to Shechem and here they are fortifying - the city against you
KJV: And he sent  messengers  unto Abimelech  privily,  saying,  Behold, Gaal  the son  of Ebed  and his brethren  be come  to Shechem;  and, behold, they fortify  the city 

Judges 9:33
Literal: And it shall be in the morning as soon as is up the sun [that] you shall rise early and rush upon the city and [when] he and the people who are with him come out against you then you may do to them as you find opportunity -
KJV: And it shall be, that in the morning,  as soon as the sun  is up,  thou shalt rise early,  and set  upon the city:  and, behold, when he and the people  that is with him come out  against thee, then mayest thou do  to them as thou  shalt find occasion. 

Judges 9:35
Literal: And when went out Gaal son of Ebed and stood in the entrance to gate the city and rose Abimelech and the people who [were] with him from lying in wait
KJV: And Gaal  the son  of Ebed  went out,  and stood  in the entering  of the gate  of the city:  and Abimelech  rose up,  and the people  that were with him, from lying in wait. 

Judges 9:43
Literal: So he took - his people and divided them into three companies and lay in wait in the field and he looked and there the people were coming out of the city and he rose against them and attacked them
KJV: And he took  the people,  and divided  them into three  companies,  and laid wait  in the field,  and looked,  and, behold, the people  were come forth  out of the city;  and he rose up  against them, and smote 

Judges 9:44
Literal: And Abimelech and the company that [was] with him rushed forward and stood at the entrance of the gate of the city and the [other] two companies rushed upon all who [were] in the fields and killed them
KJV: And Abimelech,  and the company  that was with him, rushed forward,  and stood  in the entering  of the gate  of the city:  and the two  other companies  ran upon  all the people that were in the fields,  and slew 

Judges 9:45
Literal: So Abimelech fought against the city all day that and he took - the city and the people who [were] in it killed and he demolished and sowed it with salt -
KJV: And Abimelech  fought  against the city  all that day;  and he took  the city,  and slew  the people  that was therein, and beat down  the city,  and sowed  it with salt. 

Judges 9:51
Literal: But a tower strong there was in the city and fled there all the men and women and all the people of the city and shut themselves in then they went up to the top of the tower
KJV: But there was a strong  tower  within  the city,  and thither fled  all the men  and women,  and all they  of the city,  and shut  it to them, and gat them up  to the top  of the tower. 

Judges 11:26
Literal: While dwelt Israel in Heshbon and its villages and in Aroer and its villages and in all the cities that along the banks of the Arnon three hundred for years and why not did you recover [them] within time that
KJV: While Israel  dwelt  in Heshbon  and her towns,  and in Aroer  and her towns,  and in all the cities  that be along by the coasts  of Arnon,  three  hundred  years?  why therefore did ye not recover  them within that time? 

Judges 11:33
Literal: And he defeated them from Aroer and as far as to the entrance Minnith twenty cities and to Abel Keramim of the vineyards with a slaughter Great very thus were subdued the sons of Ammon before of Israel -
KJV: And he smote  them from Aroer,  even till thou come  to Minnith,  even twenty  cities,  and unto the plain  of the vineyards,  with a very  great  slaughter.  Thus the children  of Ammon  were subdued  before  the children  of Israel. 

Judges 12:7
Literal: And judged Jephthah - Israel six years And died Jephthah the Gileadite and was buried in among the cities of Gilead -
KJV: And Jephthah  judged  Israel  six  years.  Then died  Jephthah  the Gileadite,  and was buried  in one of the cities  of Gilead. 

Judges 14:18
Literal: So said to him the men of the city on the day seventh before went down the sun what [is] sweeter than honey and what [is] stronger than a lion and he said to them if not you had plowed with my heifer not You would have solved my riddle
KJV: of the city  said  unto him on the seventh  day  before the sun  went down,  What is sweeter  than honey?  and what is stronger  than a lion?  And he said  unto them, If  ye had not plowed  with my heifer,  ye had not found out  my riddle. 

Judges 16:2
Literal: [the Gazites [When were told] has come Samson here And they surrounded [the place] and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city and they were quiet night saying when it is daylight in the morning and we will kill him
KJV: And it was told the Gazites,  saying,  Samson  is come  hither. And they compassed him in,  and laid wait  for him all night  in the gate  of the city,  and were quiet  all the night,  saying,  In the morning,  when it is day,  we shall kill  him.

Judges 16:3
Literal: And lay [low] Samson until that midnight then he arose at midnight and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two gateposts and pulled them up up along bar and all and put [them] on his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that upon faces Hebron -
KJV: And Samson  lay  till midnight,  and arose  at midnight,  and took  the doors  of the gate  of the city,  and the two  posts,  and went away  with them, bar  and all, and put  them upon his shoulders,  and carried them up  to the top  of an hill  that is before  Hebron. 

Judges 17:8
Literal: And departed the man from the city of Bethlehem in Judah to stay wherever he could find [a place] and he came to the mountains of Ephraim to the house of Micah as he made his journey
KJV: And the man  out of the city  from Bethlehemjudah  to sojourn  where he could find  a place: and he came  to mount  Ephraim  to the house  of Micah,  as he journeyed. 

Judges 18:27
Literal: So they took [the things] - that had made Micah and the priest who had belonged to him and went to Laish a people quiet and secure and they struck them with the edge of the sword and the city burned with fire
KJV: And they took  the things which Micah  had made,  and the priest  which he had, and came  unto Laish,  unto a people  that were at quiet  and secure:  and they smote  them with the edge  of the sword,  and burnt  the city  with fire. 

Judges 18:28
Literal: And [There was] no deliverer because far it [was] from Sidon and ties had no they with anyone and it [was] in the valley that belongs to Beth Rehob So they rebuilt - the city and dwelt there
KJV: And there was no deliverer,  because it was far  from Zidon,  and they had no business  with any man;  and it was in the valley  that lieth by Bethrehob.  And they built  a city,  and dwelt  therein.

Judges 18:29
Literal: And they called the name of the city Dan after the name of Dan their father who was born to Israel and However Laish of the city [was] formerly
KJV: And they called  the name  of the city  Dan,  after the name  of Dan  their father,  who was born  unto Israel:  howbeit  the name  of the city  was Laish  at the first. 

Judges 19:11
Literal: They [were] near Jebus and the day was spent far and said the servant to his master come please and let us turn aside into city of the Jebusite this and lodge in it
KJV: And when they were by Jebus,  the day  was far  spent;  and the servant  said  unto his master,  I pray thee, and let us turn in  into this city  of the Jebusites,  and lodge  in it.

Judges 19:12
Literal: But said to him his master not we will turn aside here into a city of foreigners who not of the sons of Israel are and we will go on to Gibeah
KJV: And his master  said  unto him, We will not turn aside  hither into the city  of a stranger,  that is not of the children  of Israel;  we will pass over  to Gibeah. 

Judges 19:15
Literal: And they turned aside there to go in to lodge in Gibeah And when he went in and he sat down in the open square of the city for no one would take them into [his] house to spend the night
KJV: And they turned aside  thither, to go in  and to lodge  in Gibeah:  and when he went in,  he sat him down  in a street  of the city:  for there was no man  that took  them into his house  to lodging.

Literal: And when he raised his eyes and he saw - the traveler in the open square of the city and said the man old where are you going and from where do you come
KJV: And when he had lifted up  his eyes,  he saw  a wayfaring  man  in the street  of the city:  and the old  man  said,  thou? and whence  comest

Literal: [As] they were enjoying - themselves and suddenly men of the city certain men perverted surrounded the house [and] beat on the door and they spoke to the master of the house the old man saying bring out the man who came your house that we may know him
